Welcome to Saplings

For many children, Pre-school is their first experience in a structured setting with teachers and groups of children. It’s an opportunity to learn, to share, follow instructions and begin the foundation for learning that will occur in primary school.

We offer high quality, pre-school education for children aged 3 and 4 in a safe and stimulating environment in the year before they start school (children born between 1st September 2022 and 31st August 2023).

The Pre-school children are all working on the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) curriculum. Indoor and outdoor play is planned into the curriculum areas and there are opportunities for children to discover and explore in their own way. Our environment is planned to meet the needs of all the children in our setting.

Our sessions are at 8.45 am until 11.45 am term time only (38 weeks of the year).

We offer 15 hours free funding (5 sessions) to 3 and 4 year olds. Funding is available the term after your child turns 3. We take one intake of children every September but will consider midyear admissions.

Our children are given a healthy snack each session and free milk per day.

There is an option to wear school uniform but this is not essential. Children will need to bring a named water bottle. They will also need spare clothes with them (just in case). Splash suits and wellies are provided for playing outside but you are welcome to bring your own.

Our preschool does not charge for consumables or extras. All essential consumable materials and activities are included at no additional cost to families.
